Congratulations Matrix T&T Team Members!!!

Region 5 Results:

A note from Miss Joy:

Congratulations to the Matrix Trampoline and Tumbling Team.  You all met and went far beyond my expectations this weekend.  The Matrix came away from Region V Regionals Trampoline and Tumbling Championships with 8 Regional Champions: Alea Byrne, Jasmyne Brown, Jeremiah Childs, DJ Matthews, Derrick Matthews, Hudson Seigh, David Stevens, anad Frankie Tortorigi.  New athletes qualifying this weekend were Raquel Scherlis, Hudson Seigh, Dylan Haley, Madelyn Alison, Cecil Hammet, Ali Damson.  These athletes will join the Matrix roster for a grand total of 25 athletes for the JO National Championships to be held JUN 26-JUL 2 in Virginia Beach, VA.  This is amazing for the Matrix with this being only their second competitive season.

The Regional Championships hosted a State All-Star competition which Alabama won two second places and one third place competing against the six other states in the region.  The 13 Matrix athletes were Alabama's only athletes and did extraordinary to win these honors.  I was so proud!!!!

Jeremiah Childs by his gold medal performance in Double Mini Trampoline will compete at the Regional All-Stars for Region V as well as his individual competition.  The Regional All-Stars is only for Level 10 athletes and athletes must win first place at their regional Championships to make the team.

Just a note to all you parents.  I coached my team in Idaho for 18yrs.  I had many elite athletes, National and World Age-group champions but never had a 10 year old compete a double back somersault on floor nor so many 6 and 7 yr olds competing Round off 4 Back Handsprings.  I know this is all new to you but this team is going places!
